About

Flightcamp is about introducing the fascinating world of aviation to teenagers and nurturing their flying ambitions and dreams, be it for a career in aviation or a satisfying and very different leisure pursuit.

Learning to fly instills a high degree of confidence and increases the young persons level of maturity and responsibility.

Since our first Flightcamp in December, 1992, over 1000 young people have lived on site at Bacchus Marsh Airfield for periods of 5 days to 4 weeks, learning to fly and about various careers in the aviation industry. By staying at the airfield, you will find that the after hours armchair pilot activities add to the fun and enjoyment of the week.

It will give you the opportunity to share your hopes for the future with other young people. Two of the four students on our first Flightcamp have continued on in the industry.

One is an Aeronautical Engineer and the other has just been offered a position with Qantas.

Bacchus Marsh airfield is located on the Geelong-Bacchus Marsh Road, 5km to the south of the Bacchus Marsh township, itself located 50km to the west of Melbourne.

The cost of each camp includes bunkhouse accommodation, all meals, theory costs, course materials, bus and tour entry fees.

Each student is responsible for arranging their own transport to and from Flightcamp except for Melbourne airport and local railway pick ups for country and interstate/international visitors. Previous page
